Working Memory and Cogmed
MSL Centre is a Cogmed Qualified Practice
Cogmed Working Memory Training is a computer-based programme aimed at improving attention problems caused by poor working memory Cogmed distinguishes itself from other working memory programmes in a few ways:
- It is a fundamental cognitive training programme, NOT a skills learning programme. While there are numerous training programs for skills ranging from reading to time management, or even to math, Cogmed acts at a more fundamental level, changing the way the brain functions. As a result, once working memory has improved, the individual will find it easier to acquire new skills
- Cogmed offers a focused solution, with substantial benefits. This programme is not a one-size-fits-all answer, nor does it claim to be. It is however, a solution that improves working memory, allowing the person to resist distractions and to better focus, which in turn leads to benefits in academic, social, and professional pursuits
- Research-based programme. The development of Cogmed is grounded in research, and subsequently validated by peer-reviewed, published research. (A full list of Cogmed’s claims and research evidence is available on the official webpage, www.cogmed.com)
- A professional service. When a decision is made to invest in a Cogmed training programme, a Cogmed-trained coach will be there to support you throughout your journey. You are not simply purchasing a product. You are investing in a high quality service
